I will like to write about my experience in the first phase of the GameUp Africa Bootcamp as the title implies. I have had a really good experience in the Bootcamp it is engaging and has been very useful to me in terms of knowledge in game development and I can wait for phase two.

Phase one had nine weeks of learning and in those nine weeks there were nine courses and after each course, there was an assignment for that course you had to do to pass and progress to the next course.

The GameUp Africa Bootcamp provided discord channel and Facebook groups to help engage the participants and they made 15 channels called cells and divided the participants to each cell and made 15 cell leads and guess what I was one of them and our job was to track our cell members progress by having weekly meetings which we did.

When I began watching my first course I would not say it was particularly fun because I already had some experience with unity and the first course was done for beginners but I still enjoyed it anyway because it was well-paced and structured and I used the course to strengthen my game development fundamentals and as I progressed through the courses I was enjoying it, even more, I even improved my AI system which was good.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the weekly meetings I set for my cell members because I was able to hear some of their fantastic ideas and it was really creative and innovative and they were progressing through the course at a good pace.

I also enjoyed the Technical Questions and Answers meetings because they were able to answer most of the questions I had about the Bootcamp.
Another one was the Partner series event where we talked to experienced people in the game industry and they gave me some really good Insights.

I have never been in a Bootcamp but I think this game development Bootcamp was a really nice one to participate in there were over 200 people participating in the GameUp Africa Bootcamp but they found a way to make everyone to be engaged in the Bootcamp even as it was online and provided us with data every month to enable us to participate which would have been very expensive which I really appreciate.

Those are some of the things I enjoyed in phase one of the GameUp Africa Bootcamp it was a really good experience and I cannot wait for phase two.
