I am going to be talking about how my first week was in the GameUp Africa mentorship phase. We had to give ideas on the game we wanted to create for the second phase of the Bootcamp which we did and the idea I gave was making a similar game to Hollow knight in Android/IOS.

After the pitching of ideas, we had a meeting discussing what we are going to be doing in phase two of the Bootcamp and how we can get the best of our mentors.

They assigned three mentors for each cell with attributes of pre-production, production, post-production. They also gave us a very good idea in the meeting, They said instead of creating the game individually we can do it as a team to increase the efficiency so we can create the game much faster.

After the meeting, I proposed the idea to my cellmates so they can vote on it, and they picked the idea to do it as a team.

After they voted we waited for the mentors to arrive so we can plan out times for which we will be having our meetings because they have different time zones.

As we were waiting for the mentors me and my assistant cell lead decided to change from working as a team to working as individuals why? Because of many reasons, one of the main reasons is some people do not know how to use GitHub which was what we were going to use to collaborate meaning that it will slow us down.

But we made a little tweak instead of making our original games we can pick the best game idea and all of us will work on it and see what we can come up with and we voted and decided to make an RPG zombie survival type of game which I knew is going to be very interesting to create.

After that, our mentors arrived and I asked him when he will be free so we can conduct our weekly meetings for our cell.

I really cannot wait for all the amazing and unique ideas we will all come up with am sure it is going to be fun anyway that is it time to go to work.
